What does the Lithofin Stain Stopper W do?
This Lithofin Stain Stopper penetrates into absorbent, porous surfaces and immediately forms a film-thin, invisible film in the capillaries. This reduces the absorption capacity of the stone and thus largely prevents water, oil and grease from penetrating and causing stains. All dirt deposits that would normally penetrate the stone remain on the surface due to this impregnating agent. This allows you to easily wipe and clean the stone. The appearance of the treated stone surface is not changed or only slightly changed.
Lithofin Stain Stop W is used for stain-repellent, easy maintenance of stain-sensitive surfaces such as floors in kitchens and dining rooms, but also for your tables and countertops. and similar surfaces. The surface finish can be polished, finely ground or rough. For polished surfaces of acid-sensitive stone types, the suitability must be checked in advance.
How do you use Lithofin Stain Stop W?
As a solvent-free product, Lithofin Stain Stop W also has other properties, as one would expect from solvent-containing products. Therefore, the method of application must be adapted to a slightly different application method, penetration capacity and drying times.
The surfaces must be completely dry (residual moisture content 2-4%), clean and stain-free. To make the surface stain-free, use Lithofin Dirt Remover or Moeller HMK R155. When the surface is clean and dry, the Stain Stop W can be applied. Shake the bottle well before use. Apply generously and evenly with a coat wiper, brush, roller or sponge. On polished surfaces, ensure even distribution by wiping several times. Lithofin Stain Stop W can also be applied evenly with an atomizer and immediately distributed with a sponge. Only small areas should be treated on highly absorbent surfaces. Puddles and drips should be avoided or wiped off immediately.
No product residue should dry on the surface, therefore remove any excess completely with a cloth before drying. This is particularly important for an unevenly absorbent surface, otherwise an unwanted gloss may occur.
The drying time is approximately 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the temperature and the surface. The product is fully developed after approximately 48 hours. Do not load the surface with water or oil during this time.
What is the consumption?
The consumption depends on various factors. Such as, for example, the suction of the stone. Absorbent surfaces such as sandstone from approximately 7 m2 per liter. Concrete toe with a rough surface approximately 10 m2 per liter. Polished natural stone is generally not absorbent, so you can assume a consumption of a maximum of 20 m2 per liter.
What should I pay attention to?
With marble and other acid-sensitive stone types with a polished surface as well as with fine stoneware of all kinds must be checked in advance for suitability. This is also recommended for surfaces that have previously been treated with other products. Certain materials may appear darker due to impregnation. We therefore always recommend making a test area. Immediately wipe off splashes on wood, glass, PVC, painted surfaces, permanently elastic joints with a (damp) cloth.
